Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2013
“From the very first signs of life and the first winter buds, to midsummer flowers in full bloom, the season with all its richness and diversity can be followed through this collection […] The garden is both the perfect metaphor for this collection and the ideal setting for this fashion show,” said the press release for the collection.
Superposition was the founding principle of this collection. The precept, applied to embroidery, enabled the flowers to blossom as soon as the model was in motion.
Flowers became increasingly present throughout the show, until fully embroidered balloon back dresses bloomed; a testament to the ateliers’ expertise.
The models paraded in a scenery surrounded by trees and boxwood hedges designed by Wirtz International. The boundary between indoor and outdoor disappeared in the Jardin des Tuileries, in which the show was presented.
