For his very first Haute Couture collection as Creative Director, Raf Simons analyzed the fundamental codes of the House and its most iconic design: the Bar suit.
It was reinterpreted from every angle. The basques (peplum) were treated literally or in a more subtle way, on unexpected pieces such as coats.
Christian Dior ensured his fashion shows were punctuated with designs that would arouse his public’s attention: “I see suddenly that there are not enough chemise dresses or enough spectacular models for the magazines. We call them ‘Trafalgars.’ I feel I have to add a red dress.”
In the same way, Raf Simons continued with this tradition with Look 10.
“A very energetic and beneficial color. It is the color of life. I love red and I think it suits almost every complexion. It is good for any time, too.”
